The Two Week Shutdown - Continued
I must be suffering from too much cold water on the brain but I'm actually getting use to the daily dousing of freezing cold water. I'm not sure if it's the actual shower I enjoy or the getting out of the shower. You know like being hit on the head with a hammer...it's nice when it stops!!
Anyway there is no sign of any hot water yet despite rumors to the contrary. And to cap it all the weather is starting to do its inevitable downward spiral towards winter. It's the start of August and already the temperatures are heading south. It's 8 deg C (46 F) today with a cold northerly wind and rain, a bit like being back in England in the Autumn. I drove out into the Tundra yesterday and noticed that all the migatory birds have left, they're obviously smarter than I am, they know what's coming!

Hmm...
Joy is...the absence of pain ?
I think perhaps you should stop both, the freezing showers, and hitting yourself on the head with the hammer!!
Strange pastimes they have in Siberia. Left overs from Concentration camps I guess...
Joy is the absence if pain. I like that.
"Thou art a braver man then I" (The actual quote is "Thou art a stouter man..." but I'm not going there. *grin*)
I have a simple rule of survival that I think more people should follow:
If a significant population of wildlife is heading in any particular direction, follow them...quickly.
